The first light, the Visitation, depicts Mary visiting her cousin, Elizabeth. The top panels portray a host of sixteen angels. Elizabeth stands at the top of a stairs to welcome Mary. The lower panel depicts Mary in blue and lilac robes reading a large book. This denotes Mary as Mother of Good Counsel.
The second light, the Espousal, depicts Mary’s engagement to Joseph.  The top panels depict two angels in profile. Mary and Joseph are depicted in profile. The lower panel depicts a large white tower with many turrets surrounded by red beams of light. This denotes Mary’s emblem of the ivory tower.
