First inscription:
Well, the heart's a wonder; and, I'm thinking, there won't be our like in Mayo, for gallant lovers, from this hour to-day.
The Playboy of the Western World by John Millington Synge

In this section, Synge’s lovers are portrayed against a dramatic night landscape, complete with moon and stars.

Second inscription:
And now they pause in their dancing and look with troubled eyes, Earth's straying children, with sudden memory wise.
The Others by Seumas O'Sullivan

In the second section of the third panel, another pair of lovers hold hands and sway in the moonlight.
